What do I need to monetize a YouTube channel in Lebanon?

For ad revenue: 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million Shorts views in the last 90 days. Fan-funding features like memberships and Super Thanks unlock earlier, from 500 subscribers.

How many people use YouTube in Lebanon?

About 3.12 million in late 2025, according to Google's ad-reach data. That's an ad-reach estimate, not a count of unique people.

What is YouTube?

YouTube is Google's video platform. Creators upload long-form videos, Shorts and livestreams, and viewers subscribe, like, comment and share. Unlike most social platforms, YouTube shares ad revenue with creators through its Partner Program, and Lebanon is one of the countries where that program is available.

YouTube usage in Lebanon

According to DataReportal's Digital 2026 report, Google's ad tools showed about 3.12 million YouTube users in Lebanon in late 2025, roughly 53% of the population. The audience is split almost evenly between women and men. That figure fell by about 70,000 (-2.2%) on the year, which DataReportal says may partly reflect account removals rather than people watching less.

YouTube Partner Program in Lebanon

Lebanon is on YouTube's official list of countries where the Partner Program is available, and the expanded program with lower entry requirements has fully rolled out there. That gives Lebanese creators two stages. From about 500 subscribers, you can unlock fan funding: channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers and Super Thanks. At 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views, you can earn a share of ad revenue on long videos and Shorts. Every channel goes through a review before it's accepted.

Getting paid in Lebanon

YouTube pays through AdSense for YouTube. For Lebanon, Google lists wire transfer and check as available payment methods. EFT and Hyperwallet are not. For a wire, your bank must be in the same country as the address in your payment settings, or the SWIFT code won't be accepted. Given Lebanon's banking situation, use an account that receives incoming foreign transfers as usable dollars. You'll also need to submit US tax information in AdSense, since YouTube may withhold tax on earnings from US viewers.
