Quick Answers
Can you monetize X (Twitter) in Lebanon?
Very likely not through X's own payouts. X pays creators through Stripe or X Money, and Lebanon wasn't on X's list of supported payout countries for revenue sharing. Lebanese users earn from X indirectly, through clients, sponsorships and traffic to their own work.
Does X still have creator revenue sharing?
No. X closed Creator Revenue Sharing to new members on August 7, 2026, retired it on September 7, and replaced it with Original Content Rewards from September 8, 2026.
How many people use X in Lebanon?
About 555,000 in late 2025, according to X's ad-reach data, roughly 13% of adults. That's far smaller than TikTok, Instagram or Facebook in Lebanon.
What is X (Twitter)?
X is the platform formerly known as Twitter. Users post short text updates, images, videos and long-form posts, reply in threads, repost and follow accounts. It's built around real-time conversation, which is why journalists, politicians and analysts rely on it.
X usage in Lebanon
According to DataReportal's Digital 2026 report, X's ad tools showed about 555,000 users in Lebanon in late 2025: roughly 9.5% of the population and 13% of adults, almost unchanged on the year. X's inferred audience skews about 70% male, though DataReportal notes that X's gender data is less reliable in countries where English isn't the main language. It's a niche platform in Lebanon compared with TikTok (about 4.6 million) or Instagram (about 2.95 million).
How Lebanon uses X
In Lebanon, X is mostly a news and politics platform. Breaking news, statements from officials and parties, journalists' reporting and political argument all surface there first. For creators, that makes it useful for building authority on news, economics, tech or business topics, less so for entertainment content, which performs better on TikTok and Instagram.
From revenue sharing to Original Content Rewards
X's Creator Revenue Sharing paid Premium subscribers with at least 5 million organic impressions in 3 months and 500 verified followers. It closed to new members on August 7, 2026 and was retired on September 7, 2026. Its replacement, Original Content Rewards, started on September 8 and rewards original posts and meaningful remixes rather than reuploads. X's help pages say eligibility for the new program can be checked in Creator Studio.
Getting paid by X in Lebanon
X pays creators through a Stripe payout account or an X Money account where eligible, with identity verification through Stripe. Lebanon wasn't on X's list of supported payout countries for revenue sharing, and Stripe doesn't support Lebanon either: in the Middle East, Stripe lists only the UAE. Unless X adds Lebanon, a Lebanese account has no way to receive X's payouts directly. Don't register a payout account in another country you don't live in. That breaks X's and Stripe's terms and can get earnings withheld.
